EML Police Claims Team and the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) Workforce Safety Command have collaborated in the Injury & Disability Management category shortlisted as a finalist in the Personal Injury and Disability Awards.
“EML is extremely honoured to be recognised as a finalist in these prestigious industry awards,” says David Feltscheer, Senior Manager of Insurance for NSW at EML. “We’re very proud of the partnership with NSW Police managing the portfolio for over a decade which has led to a great understanding of the unique and often complex nature of policing. We’ve invested in bespoke claims management strategies and frameworks that ultimately support those who protect us and our families.”
The collaboration between both teams has had a significant impact on many lives. Over the past five years, EML and NSWPF have managed over 20,000 claims, returning more than 10,000 people back to work.

David continues: “We know that when we collaborate on managing claims and work efficiently together, that’s when we see the best results for worker and engagement with the Police Operational Commands. COVID delivered some big challenges as we lost a bit of the personal element of the relationship but now we work from each other’s offices, share team building events and even nominate each other for awards recognising performance against our shared values.”
The team combines 80 EML staff members including case managers, specialists, leadership group, account managers and project specialists working with the NSWPF Injury Management team of nearly 40 members.
“It means a lot to have our hard work recognised in being a finalist,” says David. “If we, as the workers compensation claims manager, can build an effective partnership with the employer we can offer the best results when it comes to return to work and the customer experience.”
The Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF) Injury and Disability Management Awards celebrate and showcase the outstanding achievements of our industry. Award winners will be announced in the coming weeks.
