The EML Group (EML) is proud to partner with It Pays to Care and support its aim to improve return to work outcomes for workers and their employers.
Proudly funded by the Mutual Benefits Program, this partnership provides the opportunity to collaborate, share insights and recommendations to manage workplace injury management and build a safer workplace.
It Pays to Care (IPTC) in Work Injury Management, is an advocacy project promoting the IPTC policy paper, developed by the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Launched in 2022, IPTC provides evidence-based insights and recommendations for all stakeholders involved in workplace injury management, emphasising that fair, respectful, and collaborative approaches lead to better outcomes for workers, employers and communities.
IPTC presents extensive evidence that psychosocial factors – which include individual aspects like fear of re-injury or poor recovery expectations, as well as external factors such as perceived unfairness and workplace culture – play a critical role in recovery.
This year, we are supporting the IPTC Collaborative Project that will see the IPTC team work closely with selected unions to develop targeted resources for workers and employers, including:
- Evidence-based information about return-to-work best practice,
- Resources to support injured workers through recovery and return to work, and
- Training materials focused on addressing critical psychosocial factors in injury management.
EML is proud to partner with IPTC to share the evidence on what works in better injury management.
