Steering Healthy Minds (SHM) is a collaboration between key organisations with interests in the transport industry who recognise that mental health issues in the industry are on the rise and want to offer meaningful support for workers and establish programs and support for employers.

Data shows that young workers, those aged 15-24 years, are vulnerable to injury in the workplace. Due to their inexperience in life and work, they are less likely to speak up about safety concerns and are unaware of their health and safety rights and obligations.

Supporting apprentices who may be struggling, as well as managing mental health risks in the workplace, are positive things that employers can focus on to ensure good outcomes for both their apprentices and their business.

In 2022 EML sponsored the Australian team in the Physical Disability Rugby World Cup which ran adjacent to the Rugby League World Cup in Warrington, UK from 23 to 30 October 2022.
